Amphora Assyrtiko

Amphora Assyrtiko by Nico Lazaridi is a limited-production, single-varietal white wine from the Drama region of Greece. First launched with the 2023 vintage to mark the winery's 35th anniversary, this wine represents an exploration of traditional techniques applied to Greece's flagship white grape. It is vinified and matured for 8 months in handcrafted Italian terracotta clay amphorae, resulting in an expressive, texturally complex profile.

• Aroma Profile: A complex, distinctively earthy bouquet defined by notes of flint and pyrite, interwoven with jasmine white florals and ripe stone fruits.
• Palate & Texture: Full-bodied with an oily, tactile weight from the amphora aging, balanced by a medium-plus, vibrant acidity that keeps the wine precise and mineral.
• Technical Details: Typically carries around 12% to 13% ABV with negligible residual sugar (1.5 g/l), yielding a bone-dry, structural finish.

• Serving Temperature: Best served slightly cellar-cool between 10–13°C to let the aromatic complexity and oily texture emerge.
• Pairing Recommendations: The wine's combination of earthiness, structural weight, and crisp acidity makes it an excellent match for fatty fish, seafood served with acidic sauces, sushi, white meats, mushrooms, fresh garden vegetables, and hummus.
