P.G.I. Crete (Protected Geographical Indication)
Dry red
The fruit comes from a specific privately owned vineyard, with old plants in the Potamida area. It is an idiosyncratic wine that expresses the rustic aspect of Liatiko with ripe sweet aromas and highlights the uniqueness of the Cretan terroir. It is a highly gastronomic wine that will accompany beautiful fine dishes and delicatessen.
Pale reddish-orange color. Complex and ripe aroma of sweet spices such as cloves and cardamom, herbs of marmalade fruits reminiscent of cherries and fig along with hints of pepper, tobacco and leather. Rich and robust taste but at the same time elegant with high but very well integrated alcohol and a long spicy aftertaste.

White and red meats cooked with dried fruits, honey or some other sweet sauce, stew, fine cuts of beef, risotto with mushrooms, mature cheeses, cold cuts.

Aging: 5-8 years
Serves: 14-16°C.
Vineyard: Semi-mountainous, in the Dafnes zone in the Venerato area in Malevizio, Heraklion. Clay-calcareous soil.
Altitude: 300-400 meters
Yield: 880 kg/acre
Climate: Mild winter, cool summer

Vinification: Classic red vinification with fermentation at 26ºC in temperature-controlled tanks
